Sometimes a work of art becomes more than a museum exhibit.
It becomes part of a nation's story.
This exceptionally rare graphic work by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis belongs to an extraordinary portfolio of eleven fluorofort prints created in 1906. It is the only known work signed with the artist's full surname, "CZURLANIS." Čiurlionis usually signed his works only with his initials, making this piece truly unique. The authenticity of the portfolio has been confirmed by the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum.
Today we have an opportunity to do something that has never been done before.
Instead of waiting for one collector, a government, or a wealthy philanthropist to donate this artwork to a museum,
we can do it together.
We invite Lithuanians around the world, friends of Lithuania, collectors, and everyone who loves Čiurlionis' art to unite around one goal — returning this remarkable work to the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum in Kaunas, where it can inspire future generations.
It takes only a small contribution.
For just €1, anyone can become a Heritage Guardian and receive a Heritage Share — a symbol of helping bring this masterpiece home.
Every participant receives a personalized digital Participation Certificate. In the future, Heritage Shares may be kept as lasting digital memorabilia, passed on to family members, or traded on the CoArt Marketplace secondary market. Participants may also order a commemorative print celebrating this historic campaign.
For the first time in history, a work by Čiurlionis can be donated to a museum not by a single collector, a government, or a single philanthropist.
It can be gifted by hundreds of thousands of people. Together.
We enable humanity to preserve its cultural heritage together.
Because great works of art belong to history.
And history belongs to everyone.
